Fun Facts
How to store Perfumes
It's very important to store fine fragrances away from heat and light. These two elements will breakdown the essential ingredients in our perfume . True perfumes are extremely delicate, and should be treated much like a fine wine. . If you store your perfume in your refrigerator, opaque particles might appear. This is a natural process and does not hurt the fragrance... Mearely shake well. These natural particulates will soon disappear.
When you wear your fragrance, apply a few dabs in your "pulse" areas. Behind the ears, in the fold of your arm, near your heart. Keep in mind, also, that scents rise... so placing your perfume behind your knees is a good idea. In time, the body heat will stimulate the fragance oils, and release the various "notes" of your perfume. Never ever rub perfume! This break down the fragrance oils and dissipates the smell quicker. It is better to dab several times in one area. Always make sure that the white sealer stays in the lid of the bottle. Sometimes, this seal will come unglued and fall from the lid. It this seal is lost, use a piece of aluminum foil, or call us for a replacement lid. This will prevent leakage and evaporation, greatly extending the life of your perfume. With proper care, your perfume's shelf life should be for many years!
Perfume vs Parfum
Did you know that there is a huge difference between the qualities of fragrances.
Perfumes are the highest quality fragrance. They contain 34%-40% essential oils. The alcohol used in perfumes is extremely important to allow the fragrance to "breathe". Quality perfumes have 3 distinct "notes" that separate "perfume" from plain "oil".
Parfum is 30% essential oils. This is the highest quality typically seen in men's fragrances.
Eau de Toilette (EDT) is the lowest quality ladies' fragrance. It only contains 10% essential oils. Unfortunetely, EDT is the highest selling fragrance in department stores.
Cologne is the lowest quality fragrances, containing a mere 5% essential oil.
